As winter approaches and the leaves fall away from the trees, we get ready for the holidays and time well spent with family and friends. What I like best about this time of year are the special turkey and ham dinners, gathering around the fireplace, and catching up with the people I grew up with and love so much. But while we’re busy shuffling from house to house, buying presents for everyone on our lists, and coming up with a killer new recipe to show off at the next family gathering, our skin needs a little TLC too.
The winter is harsh on my skin and I feel that I get drier easier, especially on windy days! That’s why it’s so important that we continue to take care of our skin when it needs it the most and which is why I also love this scrub. This chocolate coffee scrub is not only easy to make but it’s fast and nourishes your skin while you exfoliate away dead skin cells.
Time to make: 10 minutes
1/4 cup coffee grounds
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 – 2 tbs honey
The best part of this recipe is that you can use your old coffee grounds. So after your done making and enjoying that cup of coffee, save the used grounds for this scrub! I like to use finely ground coffee so I put mine into the Baby Bullet miller for approx. 1 minute. You can also put the grounds in a food processor so that they’re not so course.
In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
I usually use 1 tbs honey but if you want your scrub to have extra nourishing qualities, put more honey. Store in a cool dry place and use on your whole body or just your face. This recipe makes enough for one total body scrub or several face scrubs.
